    • NO cutting of the body: no need to install the raised trunk floor from the Syncro

    • carry over the original fuel tank: it is not necessary to convert to the Syncro tank

    • retaining the FWD exhaust: the exhaust system of the front-wheel drive model can be kept without any modification

    • keep your shock absorbers: the mounting points of the rear struts are in the exact same place compared to the torsion beam axle

    • including camber and toe adjustment: while it needs to be retrofitted on syncro models, our design already features eccentric adjusters to incorporate toe and camber adjustment

  • 🔥 how this project started

    Sure, it was a long evening in the workshop. Everyone was standing under the Golf, talking about modification plans. Until someone said: "We need to make something that every Golf driver really needs."

    Good idea - but everything already exists. After all, the Golf 2 has been around for well over 40 years.

    Then Andi chimes in: "What annoys me most is this old-fashioned rear axle. Do something about it! I mean, without cutting up the body." - and the counterattack comes immediately. Sentences like "If that were even possible, someone would have done it a long time ago..." are thrown around, as well as "Are you trying to be smarter than Volkswagen?". Someone shouts, "What about TĂśV approval?".

    As the conversation drifts off-topic again, someone walks over to the tool cart and gets a tape measure. Everyone present watches, amused, as the boss takes a few measurements.

  • 🔥 "It's possible. It HAS to be possible."

    Well, the evening wasn't really productive after that. But the idea had really stuck in the heads.

    So the next workday was spent entirely on doing 3D scans:

    • the underfloor of a bare Golf shell
    • the underfloor of a fully assembled Golf
    • a Syncro rear axle
    • both Syncro axle journals (left + right)

    Then putting everything together in the CAD plus data review as a team.

    Now everyone agrees: "It's possible... it won't be easy... but it has to be possible!" A short brainstorming session follows to determine the key features the product needs:

    • camber and toe adjustment
    • retaining the front wheel drive shock absorbers
    • absolutely no rework of the body shell allowed

    Well, here we are again. Under the Golf. Armed with a pile of laser-cut parts and the welding equipment.
