The first independent rear suspension specifically engineered for front-wheel-drive models.

  • Original fuel tank retained

  • No raised trunk floor

  • Proven Syncro suspension geometry

  • Suits 4Ă—100 and 5Ă—100 bolt pattern

Why Upgrade to Independent Rear Suspension?

The factory torsion beam axle found in the Golf Mk2 and Mk3 eventually becomes the limiting factor in high-performance builds.

Our suspension replaces the original rear axle with a modern independent rear suspension based on the proven Syncro geometry - without the compromises of a full Syncro conversion.

The result:

  • improved wheel control
  • better handling under load
  • more precise suspension tuning
  • a significantly more advanced engineering solution

No more compromises on driving dynamics - out with the torsion-beam axle and in with performance!

Designed Around Performance

  • NO cutting of the body:

no need to install the raised trunk floor from the Syncro

  • retaining the FWD exhaust:

the exhaust system of the front-wheel drive model can be kept without any modification

  • keep your shock absorbers:

the mounting points of the rear struts are in the exact same place compared to the torsion beam axle

  • including camber and toe adjustment:

our IRS design features eccentric adjusters to incorporate toe and camber adjustment

Built To Last...

  • Zinc-plated
  • Powder-coated finish
  • Pre-installed polyurethane bushings

  • Frequently Asked Questions - Part 1:

#1: Does the trunk floor need to be modified?

No - only a single additional hole needs to be drilled under the rear seat for the center brace.

#2: Is the original fuel tank retained?

Yes, no modifications to the FWD tank are required.

#3: Can I keep my exhaust?

Yes, the axle is designed to accommodate stock FWD exhaust systems.

#4: Is the independent suspension legal for road use?

Unfortunately not, as this is a dedicated motorsport component.

#5: Which wheel hubs and bearings are used?

The "newer design" with an integrated bearing, taken from the Polo 9N3 or Lupo. Not only are these significantly more robust than Golf 2/3 bearings, but they also eliminate the need for the tedious process of adjusting the bearing play.

  • Frequently Asked Questions - Part 2:

#6: Can stub axles from the Golf Mk2 or Mk3 be used?

No, because the stub axles from the Golf Mk2/Mk3 (with disc brakes) feature mounts for brake caliper carriers, while our suspension arms have the mounts already in place.

#7: Are 5x100 and 4x100 bolt pattern options available?

Yes, both bolt patterns can be installed, this depends solely on the wheel bearing and the brake discs.

#8: What is the track width of the independent suspension?

The track width is the same as that of a standard twist-beam axle.

#9: What is the brake disc diameter after the conversion?

    For 4x100: 232x9 mm; for 5x100: 230x9 mm.

    #10: Is a stabilizer bar (anti-roll-bar) available?

We are currently in the process of developing a stabilizer bar retrofit kit.

#11: Are spherical bearings (Uniballs/Heim Joints) available instead of PU bushings?

Yes, a spherical bearing upgrade kit is readily available. This kit is highly recommended for rigorous motorsport use.

  • Important Notes:

    • Installation must be carried out by qualified professionals.
    • A full wheel alignment is mandatory after installation.
    • One mounting hole must be drilled beneath the rear seat for the center support.
    • Motorsport product. Not approved for use on public roads.
